Z's Crib

Since Z was practically a newborn she has been sleeping in the rock-n-play in our bedroom. We tried the bassinet for a couple nights but always found that the rock-n-play gave us more hours of sleep. We even tried going back to the bassinet not too long ago but found the same results. So I figured if it's not broke don't fix it. Whatever is giving us these 10-12 hours of sleep a night is what we are sticking with and that was the rock-n-play.

I was very nervous about Z's night sleeping while visiting in Syracuse because the only thing she had to sleep in there was a pack-n-play. She did wake up a couple more times a night than her normal one time a night but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. What I was nervous about was her sleeping laying down flat because in the rock-n-play she sleeps on an angle. I figure it kind of feels similar to the car seat for her because the car seat is her all time favorite place to sleep.

So after concurring the sleeping while laying down flat in Syracuse, I figured there is no better time than when we get back to Seattle to transfer Z to her crib in her bedroom.

Well she has been sleeping in her crib for 10-12 hours every night for almost a week with just waking up one time in the early morning. I am still in shock! I feel like it is too good to be true and I am waiting for it to end. (I am probably jinxing it by writing this post.)

Now if I can just get her to nap in her crib.

What did people do before baby monitor's made video monitor's?! I couldn't live without this video baby monitor. (I know this is a "first-world problem" and I am very lucky to have a video baby monitor.)

East Side Vacation

Sorry for the lack of post in the past week but Z and I took her first plane ride to Syracuse NY to see her Nana and meet her Papa (my stepdad) for the first time.

If you are wondering about the plane rides that I was so nervous about... they went FANTASTIC!
This is what she looked like on most of the plane rides.

Let's hope she does this good when traveling for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

While in Syracuse Nana and I had a lot of fun doing some winter shopping for Z.
Z also attended her first formal event. My stepdad was the MC at his High School Hall of Fame Reunion.

Z really enjoyed watching all the people.

Z was announced as the youngest person there and I'm pretty sure I was the second. The applause she got really made her stop and think. She really enjoyed the applauses everyone got. They even woke her up from her sleep every time they happened.

Overall it was such a nice trip. Z was great and slept like a champ. I kept her on west coast time so there was no adjusting when we got back.

There is just nothing like a grandmother's love ...

1, 2, 3 ...

4 months today

Mom is trying to get some good pictures but I would rather play with my toys ...

or play with the sticker and do my new favorite thing, suck (really I like to chomp) on my two fingers because I am teething.

See here I am sucking on my fingers while sleeping and awake.
I would even rather have my fingers than the pacifier.

As of lately, I have discovered that my feet can play the piano

I even like tummy time because my mom puts a mirror in front of me.

But my favorite tummy time is with my dad.

I have even rolled over twice from my tummy to my back. First time I did it so slow mom was able to catch it on video. You have to excuse my mom. She got really excited and she sounds like a horse. The second time I rolled over, I did it so fast nobody saw me.

As James always says "Never Forget It"

I can't believe it has been three years since that fun night in New Orleans when we said "I do"

Since that moment, life sure has been a roller coaster and the one thing I know for sure is that with James there is never a dull moment. I wouldn't want it any other way.

I am so blessed to be married to my best friend and the best husband I could ever ask for. I am also so happy to now call him the father of my child.

I love you so much James! This is hopefully just the beginning of a long roller coaster ride filled with lots of fun.

Go Lions!

Even though Daddy was in Detroit at the Lions game, Z still helped him support his team.

PEPS group

PEPS (Program for Early Parent Support) has been such a great experience! I could not have asked for better mother's to go through the beginning of parenthood with. They have been such a great support system. It has been so much fun getting to know each of them and I am so happy to call them my new "mommy friends" and so happy that Z has 9 "baby friends". I am so happy that we will continue to meet on a weekly basis as a PEPS alumni group.

We began this group 12 weeks ago on June 19th. We gathered all the babies for a picture at the first meeting and the last. Unfortunately all the babies were not able to attend the last meeting so we will hopefully get another picture of all 10 very soon.

It is amazing how much they grow in 12 weeks!

And to end on a really cute note ...

Go Blue!

Z got dressed in her first Michigan onesie and bib to watch the game with her daddy while mommy got to go and enjoy brunch and the farmer's market with some friends.

Watching the game really wore her out. Yay for Fall and Football season!
