Nine Months And Doing Fine

Eliza turned 9 months and is still as happy and giggly as ever.

She is sitting up for as long as she likes now, which isn't very long considering she just wants to go, go go. She goes right to her stomach and army crawls to anything she can grab to put in her mouth. You would be surprised how fast she can army crawl. She frequently gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. It won't be long before she is full on crawling.

Grabbing at everything and anything especially if it is in her big sister's hands. Speaking of grabbing. She wants to grab and eat anything her sister is eating and she gets angry if she can't have it. No more purees for Eliza. She is pretty much eating anything you put in front of her, cut up in to small pieces of course because she only has two teeth on the bottom.

Z actually wanted to take a picture for the first time EVER! I'm pretty sure it was just because I was trying to take Eliza's picture.

Notice all the toys beside Eliza and this is what she chooses to play with. Typical!

Z doing what she does best: distracting Eliza. They are just too cute together.

At Eliza's nine month check up she weighed in at 17 lbs. 9 oz. putting her in the 28th percentile.
Her height was 28 inches which is in the 62nd percentile.

Five Years

Every year on this day, I look back at our wedding pictures and there is always a different picture that I like more than I liked the past year. Funny how that changes. But I know one thing that will never change, it is the love and appreciation I have for this man. Thank you James for being such a wonderful husband and father. I was completely smitten by you in this picture and I still am today.
Happy Anniversary!

And then of course there are those pictures that always make me laugh every year I look at them.

Notice my face on the next picture.

And there were so many more fun pics because it was such a fun time celebrating with all our friends and family.

Golden Month

It must be Eliza's golden month, because she was 8 months old on September 8th. To me, every month has been golden (well, except maybe the first two sleepless months of her life). She is such a happy, loving and easy going baby. She has brought so much joy to our lives and completely changed me for the better. Plus she is just so darn cute and silly.

I like to think this is what her selfie face would look like.

Eliza is changing so much each month! Not only is she growing like crazy, but her two bottom teeth finally started poking through just three days before she turned 8 months. She can sit up for almost a minute, if that, before she flops on her stomach and starts army crawling around. Yes, she is on the move, reaching and grabbing for everything. Why am I talking about it, I will just show you.

Eliza is eating everything in puree form. Name it, she has probably ate it. But unlike Z, she actually enjoys her food pureed. She really likes to suck the food out of the pouches herself.

Her mouth is constantly open because she always has something to say. She has started to say Mamma, mainly when she is fussy and needs something.

Crazy Seven

7 months already?!

It is crazy in our house, which is why I am always a few days late posting Eliza's monthly updates. This is usually what I am dealing with, a crazy toddler and just an adorable baby that wants to do what her sister does.

Eliza is on her tummy, by choice, most of the time. When she is laid on her back, she rolls right to her stomach and scoots and rolls until she gets to where she wants to be. She can't keep her hands to herself. She is always reaching for something.

As much as Eliza loves to kick her legs and jump around, she can be really laid back at times.

Her little personality is starting to shine. She is generally a very happy baby with a "great" smile as her Daddy likes to say. She is very observant and at times just sits back and takes it all in, especially what her sister is doing.

Eliza still wakes up to eat at least twice a night, on a good night. She is teething terribly, as she has been doing for the past three or four months, but still no teeth are coming through. Since turning six months she has refused to take a bottle (which means no more nights away for this mamma), so it's a good thing she has really taken to solids. She has thurley enjoyed avocado, sweet potatoes, carrorts, peas, green beans, peaches, strawberries and bananas.

The Half Birthday

There are some big things happening around here while Eliza is turning 6 months. She is sitting in her high chair for the first time.

Eating food (avocado) for the first time and really enjoying what little she was able to get in her mouth.

And being transferred to the pack-n-play in our room from the rock-n-play without being swaddled. This is leading up to the soon transfer to her crib in her own room.

At her 6 month check-up today we discovered Eliza has gained 3 lbs in two months, now weighing 15 lbs 2 oz and in the 35th percentile. She is still long in the 85th percentile with a length of 26.75".

Celebrating the Fourth in the Great Pacific NW

We went to our annual Fourth of July party at Jeana's house on Lake Sammamish. Z headed straight for the kiddie pool on the deck

while Eliza and Daddy hung out.

But it didn't take Z long in the pool before she was swimming in the lake with Uncle Andrew.

And more swimming with Uncle Wes.

Before we left we attempted a family photo.

I would say it was a successful Fourth of July.

Five Month Flexibility

This happy little baby turned 5 months yesterday. She is beginning to have such a sweet and cute personality. It doesn't take much to make her smile, giggle and talk to you.
Shortly after she turned 4 months, she began rolling over from her stomach to her back. When she is on her back she goes to her side but can't quite make it to her stomach. She has recently discovered her feet and how good they taste, so that is distracting her from rolling over.

She is just as expressive with her eyebrows as Z was.

If she is not nibbling on her favorite chew toy, her toes,

she is chewing on her fingers.

Her third favorite thing to chew on is this toy.

Boy is she teething and drooling all over herself, but not a tooth in sight.
